Beliefs

We Believe Jesus Christ is our Savior.

We are Christians

As Christians, we trace our roots back to the time of Jesus Christ, for we believe and teach what Jesus taught his apostles. We believe in one true God, the Triune God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). We believe Jesus Christ, the Son, was born, crucified, died and rose victorious as the world's Savior from sin. We believe that anyone who believes this will share in the gift of eternal life.

The beliefs of the Christian church are found in their entirety in the Holy Christian Bible and were formally summarized in A.D. 1530 in the Augsburg Confession.

We are Lutherans

Luther Rose

We believe in the historic Lutheran three-fold emphases of grace alone ("sola gratia"), faith alone ("sola fide"), and Scripture alone ("sola scriptura").

By “grace alone,” we mean that God saves us through his undeserved grace alone. It was given as a gift to us."For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8)
By “faith alone,” we mean that faith is the only requirement for salvation, not works or effort. “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.” (Romans 3:28)
By “Scripture alone,” we mean that God has given us everything we need to know for salvation in the Scriptures. We can neither add nor subtract from God's Word. We hold the Bible as the completely true and inspired Word of God, the only source and authority for Christian faith and life. "To the law and to the testimony! If they speak not according to this word [The Bible], it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20)

The beliefs of the historic Lutheran Church were formally stated in The Book of Concord (1580), with which we agree.
